Wiebke Hüster

Wiebke Hüster is a German writer, dance critic and yoga teacher based in Frankfurt am Main. She is the author of „Birgit Keil. Ballerina: Glück ist wenn auch die Seele tanzt.“ - a biography of John Cranko's First Soloist and long-time Director of Badisches Staatsballett Karlsruhe.

For 15 years, Hüster was the Chief Dance Critic of Germany's most influential newspaper, „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“. She stopped covering a hundred premieres a year when her husband Jürgen Kaube became Chief Editor in January 2015 but continues to publish occasional essays or interviews there. The critic reviews dance events and publications on radio for Deutschlandradio Kultur and Deutschlandfunk and has published in „Ballet Review“ and „Die Zeit“. She is currently pursuing two book projects. One book will collect her most important writings connecting their subjects by new chapters trying to develop her vision of the future of the art form. In her first novel Hüster explores mythical and contemporary forms of narcissism.
