The Chinese tenor Minjie Lei studied at the conservatories of Beijing, New York and Philadelphia. He gained international attention by winning several prestigious singing competitions such as Neue Stimmen (2017) and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition (2019). He played leading roles at renowned opera companies such as Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zürich, Opera Vlaanderen and Staatsoper Stuttgart. His repertoire consists of roles such as Ernesto Don Pasquale, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni, Don Narciso Il turco in Italia and Fenton Falstaff.
