Ballet-ABC

What can you look for when watching a ballet performance? How does a choreographer work? What does the training of a ballet dancer look like?

The opera and dance courses at Dutch National Opera & Ballet are an ideal introduction to both art forms. They offer enthusiasts a deeper understanding and a new way of looking at the performances.

From arabesque to plié: deepen your ballet knowledge in three evenings

What does the training of a ballet dancer look like? How has ballet developed as an art form into the 21st century? How is a choreography written down? And what can you look for when watching a ballet performance?

In this three-evening course, Dutch National Ballet will introduce you to the world of ballet. You will be introduced to the basic concepts and discover new ways of looking at dance. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. As well as the course instructor, you will meet various guests who will give demonstrations and offer insights into their work.

All courses take place in one of the studios of Dutch National Opera & Ballet and last from 19.30 to 21.30 hrs.
