Kindermuziekweek 2024
During the national Kindermuziekweek, from 5 to 14 April, Dutch National Opera & Ballet presents two musical performances, both based on a picture book.
Mr. Coats (4+)
Whether it’s winter or summer, Mr. Coats is always freezing cold. Shivering, he tries and tries to get warm.
Choreographer Wubkje Kuindersma is adapting the touching picture book Mr. Coats by Sieb Posthuma into a ballet for the very youngest audience.

Hup Herman! (3+)
Actor Harpert Michielsen and musician Joost Brouwer made an adaptation of the book Hup Herman! by Yvonne Jachtenberg. They play and sing the story of Herman for and with the children in the audience. A musical performance about the joys of writhing in the mud. About the urge to be the best. And about the discovery that it’s OK to be happy as you are.

Kindermuziekweek
The national Kindermuziekweek is an initiative of 13 major Dutch music institutions that have joined forces to create an annual 10-day Kindermuziekweek. Dutch National Opera & Ballet participates in this joyful week, as it does every year.
