Grand new production of a famous ballet classic

For the first time in the Netherlands: Marius Petipa’s legendary ballet Raymonda, a completely new version by Associate Artistic director Rachel Beaujean. Her interpretation of this large-scale production,  which presents the classical ballet technique in its most pure and demanding form, adds a surprising new change to the story. Jérôme Kaplan, known for his beautiful designs among which those for Don Quichot, will design the sets and costumes.

Verwoert’s unique individual signature was rewarded with a Swan nomination for Most Impressive Dance Production 2019/2020.

Colourful vision on the future of dance

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary Dutch National Ballet is organising a festive, large-scale project for the coming season: In the Future. Amateur groups practicing different forms of dance, of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds, have been working together for months to create one dazzling performance in Dutch National Opera & Ballet, based on Hans van Manen’s ballet of the same name.
