We are proud to announce that the choreography Architecture of Hope by Wubkje Kuindersma, young creative associate of Dutch National Ballet, has won the Performing Arts Award for Best New Work. The choreography won this award as part of Ballet at the Quarry: Light and Shadow by West Australian Ballet, in collaboration with the Perth Festival.
Architecture of Hope
Architecture of Hope premiered in February 2020 in Perth, Australia, and received raving reviews. "Rich in intensity, style and perfectly executed moves, this was far and away the highlight of the evening", said the critics about Architecture of Hope. Last April, Kuindersma's work was danced by the Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet during a shortened version of the performance Colours of Ballet. During this performance, which took place as part of a research project by ‘Stichting Open Nederland’, the feeling of hope that is the starting point of Architecture of Hope was more relevant than ever.
