John Osborn is an American tenor, who has gained international fame, mainly in the bel canto and French 'Grand Opéra' repertoire. He is celebrated for his Hoffmann in Les contes d'Hoffmann, a role he also performed at Dutch National Opera in 2018, and specialised in the French repertoire with roles such as Prince Léopold La Juive, Jean de Leyde Le prophète, Raoul de Nangis Les Huguenots, Des Grieux Manon and the title role Faust. Important Italian roles he has sung include Arnold Guillaume Tell, Alfredo Germont La Traviata, Il duca di Mantova Rigoletto and Rodolfo La Bohème. He has sung in opera houses such as The Metropolitan Opera, Theater an der Wien, Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Hamburg, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro di San Carlo, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Opéra de Lyon, Grand-Théâtre de Genève and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia.
