The American tenor is famous for his interpretations of the bel canto and French grand opera repertoire. He has recently sung roles at the Vienna State Opera, La Fenice Opera House in Venice, Teatro Real in Madrid, Oper Frankfurt and at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo. He has performed frequently at Dutch National Opera: as Iopas in Les Troyens (2003), Ein italienischer Tenor in Capriccio (2006), Arturo in I Puritani (2009), Léopold in La juive (2009), Arnold in Guillaume Tell (2013), in the title role in Benvenuto Cellini (2015), Hoffmann in Les contes d’Hoffmann (2018) and Chabel in Die  ersten Menschen (2021).
