Claron McFadden

The versatile soprano Claron McFadden moved to the Netherlands after completing her studies in Rochester (New York). Since her debut in 1989, she has been a popular performer at Dutch National Opera, as well as at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and La Monnaie in Brussels. She has sung in the world premieres of works by Jörg Widmann and Michel van der Aa. In 2020, she was honoured as a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau. At Dutch National Opera, she recently sang in Upload (2021), How Anansi freed the stories of the world (2021) en We Are The Lucky Ones (2025).

• In season 2024-2025, Claron McFadden will return once more to Dutch National Opera for the role of Princess Vixen in How Anansi freed the stories of the world.
