Countertenor

The English countertenor Tim Mead studied cello, piano and musicology at Trinity College of Music in London and King’s College in Cambridge. Subsequently, he studied singing at the Royal College of Music with Robin Blaze. In opera, he focusses on Baroque repertoire (most notably Händel), but also on contemporary works by composers like George Benjamin, Harrison Birtwistle and Philip Glass. He has performed at multiple opera houses, including English National Opera, The Royal Opera House, Opéra national de Paris and Bayerische Staatsoper. At Dutch National Opera he performed in Ercole amante (2009) and Death in Venice (2013).
