Jenny Carlstedt

Finnish-Swedish mezzo-soprano Jenny Carlstedt is renowned for her versatile repertoire, which ranges from Mozart, Strauss and Wagner to contemporary opera. She studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. From 2002 to 2016, she was a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, then going on to establish herself as an internationally active freelance singer. Carlstedt is a regular guest artist at the Finnish National Opera and has performed at opera houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Theater an der Wien, Staatsoper Hamburg and the Royal Danish Opera. Contemporary repertoire is a significant part of her work, with roles in works including Innocence by Kaija Saariaho and The Morning Star by Sebastian Fagerlund. She previously appeared at Dutch National Opera as The Waitress (Tereza) in Innocence (2023).
