
Jenny Carlstedt
Finnish-Swedish mezzo-soprano Jenny Carlstedt studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and with Rudolf Piernay at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She was a member of the Oper Frankfurt ensemble (2002–2016), where her roles included Octavian and Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Nicklausse/Muse in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Idamante in Idomeneo, Lazuli in L’étoile, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, and Dorabella in Così fan tutte. Engagements since have included Wellgunde in Das Rheingold (Staatsoper Hamburg), Annio in La clemenza di Tito (Theater an der Wien), and Lucienne in Die tote Stadt (Theater Basel).
Jenny Carlstedt will make her DNO debut with the role of The Waitress (Tereza) in Innocence, which will be performed at Dutch National Opera from 7 to 22 October 2023.
