Dutch National Opera Studio Audition 2022/2023


The DNO studio programme 2022/2023 is designed to support 7 singers and 2 répétiteurs, all of whom will be employed on a full-time basis as salaried employees of Dutch National Opera for up to a two year period. The young artists will be immersed into the professional life of the company and mentored by international coaches and directors on every aspect of their career development in an tailor-made programme designed by artistic director Rosemary Joshua. The weekly activities will consist of workshops, performances, lessons and coaching.

Audition for the répétiteurs at the Dutch National Opera Studio 2022/2023 will be held in Amsterdam at Dutch National Opera & Ballet. The age limit is 32 years for both women and men.

When invited to the auditions, candidates are expected to present, singing and playing, the following:

- Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart) act 2 finale or Così fan tutte (Mozart) Act 1 finale

- La Bohème act 1, either from the beginning till entrance Schaunard or from entrance Schaunard till entrance Benoît

- Der Rosenkavalier (Richard Strauss) Act 1 Octavian’s aria “Wie du warst” or act 2 Presentation of the Rose from Octavian’s entry to rehearsal figure 37.

They will also be asked to work with a singer.

Deadline: Applications for Repetiteur Audition must be submitted by 11/04/2022 (note: the original deadline has been extended to this date).
Applications sent after this deadline will not be processed.
