World Ballet Day 2025: Access Becomes Art

16 October 2025

On Wednesday 12 November, renowned ballet companies from around the world will celebrate the art of dance during World Ballet Day – the day when the magic of ballet takes centre stage. This year’s theme: Access Becomes Art.

The theme explores inclusion and diversity in the broadest sense – in experience, perspective and physical ability. Ballet companies across the globe are discovering new forms of artistic accessibility, and are bringing together artists, including those with disabilities, to collaborate on innovative projects.

Celebrate World Ballet Day with Dutch National Ballet

As part of this special edition, Luca Abdel-Nour (dancer with Dutch National Ballet) will create a new choreography for wheelchair dancer Eli Bras and Junior Company dancer Javier Cubero. The performance will be captured on film and will be broadcast during World Ballet Day 2025.
