Dutch National Opera & Ballet supports the people of Ukraine
Like all cultural institutions, Dutch National Opera & Ballet is shocked and horrified by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our thoughts go out to the people in the Ukraine and to all our friends and colleagues who are suffering in these dark times.
This weekend - on 4, 5, 6 and 7 March - Dutch National Opera & Ballet will join the national campaign #hArtforUkraine, in which the entire cultural sector will work together in support of the people of Ukraine. From Friday onwards, our building will be lit up in blue and yellow. We will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from our Friday and Saturday performances to Giro 555. In addition, we will give our audiences the opportunity to make individual donations in our theatre. On Saturday 5 March, the Chorus of Dutch National Opera and the singers of Dutch National Opera Studio will perform Prayer for Ukraine, which they will sing in Ukrainian, right before the start of the premiere of Eurydice - Die Liebenden, blind,
We would like to ask you, as a theatre-goer and/or follower of Dutch National Opera & Ballet, to support Ukraine in any way you can, because each contribution helps and is very welcome. Please donate directly to Giro 555 via the link below or go to refugeewerk.nl or UNHCR.org to find out how else you can support Ukraine. Will you join us in supporting Ukraine?
