
Marc Albrecht
Marc Albrecht is internationally renowned for his interpretations of works by composers like Wagner, Mahler, Richard Strauss and Zemlinsky. In the 2025/2026 season, he is the designated Chief Conductor of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, officially assuming the role of Chief Conductor in the 2026/2027 season. Marc Albrecht appeared with acclaimed orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, NHK Symphony Orchestra and recently the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and Oslo Philharmonic. He has conducted at opera houses all over the world, including Semperoper Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Opernhaus Zürich and The Royal Opera. From 2011 to 2020 he was chief conductor of Dutch National Opera and the Netherlands Philharmonic. In 2019 Marc Albrecht was named Conductor of the Year at the International Opera Awards. At Dutch National Opera he conducted numerous works by Wagner, Richard Strauss, Schönberg and Mozart, among others.
In season 2024-2025, Marc Albrecht returns to Dutch National Opera for the musical direction of Die Frau ohne Schatten.
