Tigran Matiyan

Tigran Matiyan studied singing at the Academic Music College of the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory and continued his studies at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. Later he graduated from the P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Aleksey Martynov. In 2015 he moved to the Netherlands to follow the master's programme in early music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Tigran has performed with various orchestras and ensembles, including the Russian Philharmonic.

Tigran is currently one of the permanent members of the Chorus of Dutch National Opera. He also participates as a freelance singer in projects with Collegium Vocale Gent.

As a guest soloist, Tigran has performed in numerous works, including Monteverdi's Vespro della beata Vergine and L'Orfeo, Handel's Messiah and Acis and Galatea, J.S. Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium, Johannes-Passion and Matthäus-Passion, C.P. E. Bach's Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem and Krönungsmesse, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle and Webers Oberon. He has worked with world-famous directors and conductors such as Antony Hermus, Philippe Herreweghe, Peter van Heygen, Ton Koopman, Peter Neumann, Peter Philips, Aleksandr Rudin and Vladimir Minin.
