Jeanneke van Buul

Soprano

Jeanneke van Buul has been singing since childhood, starting in choirs conducted by her father. She studied at Conservatorium Maastricht and later at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, earning diplomas in both Music Education and Performance. During her studies, she sang with ensembles such as Studium Chorale and the Netherlands Bach Society.

Through her teachers Hein Meens and Charlotte Margiono, Jeanneke was introduced to Dutch National Opera, further expanding her musical horizons. She continued her training in the opera class at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

After completing her studies, she began working as a freelance singer with the Chorus of Dutch National Opera, securing a permanent position in 2004. She has also performed solo roles in Roméo et Juliette, A Dog’s Heart, and La forza del destino. Collaborating with colleagues and working on new productions with different conductors and directors constantly brings fresh perspectives and artistic challenges.

Beyond her work with the chorus, Jeanneke regularly performs in concerts and presents an annual lunchtime concert in the foyer of Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
