Gregory Molnar was born in Montréal, Canada, into a family of artists. Most of his family members were musicians and his grandmother was a prima ballerina who had toured throughout the world. Gregory, therefore, found a deep love for the arts at a young age. His grandmother, upon discovering his infatuation with the art of movement, found a prestigious school that focused on both dance and academics and quickly began training Gregory in classical ballet technique. Soon after auditioning, he was offered a scholarship.
Gregory left his hometown at the age of 12 to pursue his studies abroad, and earned full scholarships to prominent ballet schools such as Canada’s National Ballet School, Cuban National Ballet School, Miami City Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School. At The National Ballet of Canada, Gregory was given the opportunity to perform as Misha in James Kudelka’s The Nutcracker. During his training at San Francisco Ballet School, he performed in many renowned ballets such as Christoper Wheeldon’s Cinderella and Helgi Tomasson’s Nutcracker, Don Quixote, and Sleeping Beauty.
After starting his career as a professional dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, Gregory joined the Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet in 2021.
