Yvonne has sung in many choruses from a very young age but completed a study in psychology before starting her vocal studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam). She graduated in 2010 and took lessons and master classes with renowned singers such as Bernarda Fink, Jard van Nes and Nelly Miriciociu. Since 2012 Yvonne has been coached by Ira Siff.

Yvonne was given the opportunity, partly already during her conservatory studies, to sing various solo opera roles, including Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (Resident Artist Nederlandse Reisopera), Mrs Herring in Albert Herring, Olga in Onegin and Ruggiero in Alcina. She also likes to sing oratorio and ‘lied’ (art song). She is often found on the stage as a soloist with choruses and orchestras in various oratorios, from Bach's Matthäus-Passion to Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle.

Her passion for theatre and choral singing comes together at the Chorus of Dutch National Opera, where she started as a freelancer in 2013. From 2022 onwards, Yvonne acquired a permanent position. Yvonne also likes to produce performances herself. She has her own ensemble, making classical music theatre performances for children.
