Richard Meijer


Richard Meijer is from Maastricht, and received his singing education with Rachel-Ann Morgan at the Conservatory of Maastricht. He took masterclasses with Robert Holl, Harry Peeters, Christian Papis and John Bröcheler. After this, from 1995 to 2007, he was a chorus member and soloist at the Stadttheater-Aachen, where he performed various roles. Richard also sang in oratorios, gave song recitals at home and abroad and was a conductor of Big Band Mosamtune and Pop Choir 2Enjoy. He also produced children's performances with Stichting Fabulijn.

Since 2010 Richard holds a permanent position with the Chorus of Dutch National Opera, where he also regularly performs as a soloist.

In addition to being a member of the DNO Chorus, Richard is currently the musical accompanist of the ensemble Timeless and, since 2019, trumpeter and leader of the band RIGI in Maastricht. He also works as a choir soloist with André Rieu at the Vrijthof concerts and New Year's concerts. Richard has sung in over 150 different musicals, operas and operettas
