Vasily Petrenko
Conductor
Vasily Petrenko is the music director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (since 2021). He is also honorary conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, where he spent 15 years as the chief conductor, and associate conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León. He has previously been chief conductor of the European Union Youth Orchestra, the Oslo Philharmonic and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Petrenko works with leading orchestras around the world and regularly performs at major festivals and opera houses such as Glyndebourne, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Zurich Opera House and the Metropolitan Opera.
