Violinist Thora Sveinsdóttir grew up in Iceland where she studied at the Reykjavík College of Music. She later moved to the Netherlands where she completed her master's degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Thora is a member of the orchestral collective s t a r g a z e and a founding member of the duo Dúplum, which plays music by contemporaries. She regularly substitutes with various symphony orchestras, including the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra and the Residentie Orkest. Thora is active in the field of music theatre and participates in the development of various concert projects with e.g. Cauda Collective and in a dance production with Club Guy and Roni. Thora has also performed with various artists from outside the classical world, including Sigur Rós, with whom she completed a world tour in 2012.
