He then went on to make Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Münchausen, The Fisher King and Twelve Monkeys, followed by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Brothers Grimm and Tideland. In 2006, he was co-writer and director of Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, and in 2001 he wrote and directed the short film The Wholly Family. His most recent film is The Zero Theorem, starring Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon and Melanie Thierry. Over the years, he has received many awards and prizes for his work. Terry Gilliam made his opera debut in 2011 with Hector Berlioz' La Damnation de Faust for the English National Opera in London and later for the Vlaamse Opera in Ghent.
