Sonoko Kamimura

The Japanese dancer and choreographer Sonoko Kamimura trained as a ballet dancer in Japan before moving to Rotterdam to study at Codarts. She was a member of Scapino Ballet and danced as a guest dancer in William Forsythe’s company. After her career as a dancer, she started working as a choreographer, director and assistant director for opera productions at companies including the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Oper Frankfurt and Zurich Opera House. In addition to her theatre work, she has pursued a parallel career in the fashion industry. She regularly collaborates with Ted Huffman.
