Stefanie Janssen

Soprano

Stefanie Janssen is a singer, performer, and songwriter with roots in classical music, opera, indie folk, and experimental pop. With her voice, she explores the full spectrum, from soaring high notes to soft whispers over a meditative foundation of beats, bass, and electronic textures. She has initiated various bands and projects, including STÄSJ, an indie electro-pop act that takes listeners on a journey of exploration, observation, and expansion of the human mind—at times mysteriously hypnotic, at others raw and direct.

Stefanie’s ongoing search for international collaborations and cross-disciplinary projects has led to a diverse career spanning dance theatre, music theatre, and opera. She has performed in End of the World Report (O. Festival Rotterdam), Victory Over The Sun (Stedelijk Museum), the hip-hop musical Ugly D (Gevaarlijk Goed), the interactive online opera The Transmigration of Morton F. (Holland Festival), the oratorio De Zingende Vuurtoren (Theater aan Zee, BE), and the multimedia performance No Password (Cagliari, Italy).

Stefanie graduated from the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem and works closely with Studio Minailo, a laboratory for performing arts.
