Simon Mechlinski

Baritone

Simon Mechlinski is praised for his warm dark-hued baritone. He studied singing in his hometown Poznań, Poland at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music and since 2017 he is studying with Italian baritone Giorgio Zancanaro. Mechlinski has won prizes at several contests and competitions, including the first prize at both the International Opera Competition in Brescia, Italy and the International Vocal Competition in Graz, Austria. In 2022, he received the second prize at the 11th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition, Poland. Mechlinski performed amongst others the roles of Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen, Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème, Lescaut in Massenet’s Manon and the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Jevgeni Onegin. In Maria Stuarda he makes his debut with Dutch National Opera in the role of Lord Guglielmo Cecil.
