American tenor Sean Panikkar is one of the most exciting tenors of his generation. He has performed at the world’s greatest opera houses, including The Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (Germany), the Vienna State Opera (Austria) and The Royal Opera House in London, as well as at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence (France) and the Salzburg Festspiele (Austria). He has worked with conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Vladimir Jurowski and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and directors such as Ivo van Hove, Barrie Kosky and Peter Sellars. His repertoire features a variety of roles, including Don José in Carmen, Un emigrante in Luigi Nono’s Intolleranza 1960, Mahatma Gandhi in Philip Glass’s Satyagraha, Tambourmajor in Alban Berg’s Wozzeck, Leonard in Kevin Puts’s The Hours, Loge in Das Rheingold and Alfred in Die Fledermaus.
