Nikolai Schukoff

The Austrian tenor Nikolai Schukoff is renowned for his powerful stage presence and great stylistic versatility, with a repertoire that ranges from German and French to Slavic. He made his international breakthrough as Parsifal at Bayerische Staatsoper and has since tackled roles such as Siegmund (Die Walküre), Florestan (Fidelio), Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos), Herod (Salome) and Jim Mahoney (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny). Recent highlights include Herod in Florence and Jim Mahoney at Deutsche Oper Berlin. He has also performed at venues including the Metropolitan Opera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Teatro Real in Madrid. At Dutch National Opera, he has previously appeared in the eponymous role of Lohengrin (2014), as Guido Bardi in Eine florentinische Tragödie (2017) and as Jim Mahoney in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (2023).
