Marc Pantus

Bass-baritone

Dutch bass-baritone Marc Pantus has performed as a soloist with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Asko|Schönberg, the Netherlands Bach Society, acting groep Wunderbaum and crossover dance company ISH. After studying for visual artist, Marc Pantus studied voice at the Utrechts Conservatorium and the Royal Conservatory The Hague. Furthermore, he studied at the Steans Institute for Young Artists in Chicago. Pantus created several comic opera productions as director with his opera company I Piccoli Holandesi, including two collage operas dedicated to Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Moreover, Pantus' ode to Schubert for vocal ensemble Frommermann, FrommerFranz, was praised by the press. Last year Marc Pantus presented a unique Parsifal adaptation for three singers, harmonium, piano, synthesizer and bass guitar. Moreover, he recently sang the role of Bottom in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream at Opera Zuid with great success, and he performed a penetrating Bluebeard in Bartók's opera of the same name with the National Youth Orchestra conducted by Antony Hermus.
