
Lucas van Lierop
The Dutch-Canadian tenor Lucas van Lierop was a member of the Dutch National Opera Studio in Amsterdam from 2018 to 2020. In the 2024–2025 season, Van Lierop made significant debuts at the Salzburg Festival as Diener 7 in Capriccio under the baton of Christian Thielemann, and at Theater Basel as Pong in Christoph Loy’s new production of Turandot. He returned to Dutch National Opera as Bob Boles in the new staging of Peter Grimes by Barbora Horáková, conducted by Lorenzo Viotti. A frequent guest at Dutch National Opera, he has already performed numerous roles, including Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte), Spoletta (Tosca), Don Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Joe Cannon (Girls of the Golden West), Ein Wirt (Der Rosenkavalier), Der Schneider (Königskinder), and Man Ray in Willem Jeths’ Ritratto.
