Liang Li

Bass

Chinese bass Liang Li is much in demand internationally as a singer with a repertoire that ranges from Mozart and Verdi to Wagner and Strauss. He has performed at opera houses including Vienna State Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Deutsche Oper Berlin, and has worked with orchestras such as Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. His key roles include König Marke (Tristan und Isolde), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Zaccaria (Nabucco) and Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra). He was a member of the ensemble of Staatsoper Stuttgart from 2006 to 2019, where he was honoured with the title of Kammersänger in 2016. At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang Timur in Turandot (2022) and König Marke in Tristan und Isolde (2026).
