Lenneke Ruiten

Soprano

Dutch soprano Lenneke Ruiten started her musical career studying the flute, but after completing this program, she chose to dedicate her education to vocal studies. She did her vocal studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Meinard Kraak and Maria Rondèl, completing her studies at the Bayerische Theaterakademie. After her successful performance in 2013 as Ophélie in Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet in La Monnaie/De Munt (Brussels), many debuts have followed. In 2014, she debuted as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Salzburger Festspiele, only to perform at the Teatro alla Scale one year later as Giunia in Lucio Silla. Her debut at the Dutch National Opera followed in 2015 as well, namely as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel. Moreover, Ruiten is a regular guest at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where she performed many roles. For instance, she performed the role of Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Gilda in Rigoletto en Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. Recently, she performed the role of La Mort in Das Floss der Medusa at the Dutch National Opera and the role of Donna Clara in Der Zwerg (2021).
