Leander Carlier

Baritone

Leander Carlier (2000) graduated with honours from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, where he studied under Gary Jankowski. He took part in masterclasses with, among others, Claron McFadden and Raehann Bryce-Davis. Since 2019, he has been a member of the B’Rock Vocal Consort, with which he toured Europe performing Telemann’s opera Orpheus. In 2022, Leander was admitted to the Young Talent Program – MM Academy – at La Monnaie in Brussels. In 2023, he made his professional debut in Saint-Saëns’ Henry VIII and Shostakovich’s Nos. He also performed the lead role of Piquillo in Offenbach’s operetta La Périchole

Leander has won several prizes at international singing competitions and, in 2024, was the winner of the television programme ARIA. As a result, he was awarded a place at the Dutch National Opera Studio, where he commenced training in January 2025. As part of this programme, he will perform the role of Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas in concert, a touring production running from 25 April to 6 May 2025.
