Laetitia Gerards

Soprano

Dutch soprano Laetitia Gerards studied classical singing at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA) with renowned vocal pedagogue Sasja Hunnego, from whom she graduated summa cum laude in 2016. Gerards is beloved by audiences for her disarming stage presence and evident musicality. She has a successful career as a soloist and opera singer, performing with most Dutch professional orchestras such as the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. She has a great affinity with the American repertoire, such as Kurt Weill, Lenoard Bernstein and George Gershwin, but also with classical opera roles such as Musetta in La bohème, Lisette in La Rondiné and Marzelline in Fidelio. Gerards recently performed the role of Marenka in a Dutch adaption of Smetana’s comic opera Die verkaufte Braut. In addition, Gerards has received the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award and the first prize of the Princess Christina Competition. Her role in Operetta Land is her debut with Dutch National Opera.
