Helena Rasker

The Dutch contralto Helena Rasker has enjoyed a glowing international career with a repertoire that ranges from baroque to contemporary music. Recent roles have included Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Andronico in Vivaldi’s Il Giustino, La Femme in Eldar’s Like Flesh, Ma Ginger in Gordon Kampe’s Dogville, Stařenka Buryjovka in Jenůfa and Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte. She has performed at Zurich Opera House, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Theater Basel, Staatsoper Berlin, English National Opera, the Salzburger Festspiele and elsewhere. She has already sung numerous roles at Dutch National Opera, including Hedwige in Guillaume Tell (2013), Bryna Pullman in After Life (2005 and 2009) and Clover in Animal Farm. 

• May 2024 Helena Rasker will sing the role of La Badessa (Suor Angelica) and Zita (Gianni Schicchi) in Il  trittico at Dutch National Opera
