Soprano Francis van Broekhuizen graduated cum laude in 2002 en 2004 at the Amsterdam Conservatoire and the Dutch National Opera Academy respectively. In 2004 she was awarded a prize at the Cristina Deutekom Concours. Van Broekhuizen works predominantly in the Netherlands and has sung many roles for Dutch opera companies. She performed in Suor Angelica, Die lustige Witwe, Cendrillon, De speler, Elektra, Owen Wingrave and Il tabarro. She became known to a wider audience through television programmes such as De slimste mens, Maestro, De verraders and All together now. In 2022 she wrote the best-selling book Bij twijfel hard zingen. At Dutch National Opera, she sung the role of Rychtárka in Jenůfa (2018).
