The Italian soprano Federica Lombardi is recognized worldwide as one  of today’s most sought-after interpreters of Mozart’s leading heroines, including Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna in Don  Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Elettra in Idomeneo, as well as Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito.

In recent seasons, she has continuously expanded her repertoire to include bel canto roles like Anna Bolena and Norma, alongside the great Verdi soprano roles like Luisa Miller, Elisabetta in Don Carlo, Desdemona in Otello, Violetta in La traviata, and Amelia in Simon  Boccanegra – and also Puccini’s tragic heroine Mimì in La Bohème.

Following her highly acclaimed house debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Countess  Almaviva, Federica Lombardi celebrated a succession of major milestones. These include a widely praised role debut in the title role of Bellini’s Norma at the Vienna State Opera followed by a successful debut as Elisabetta in Don Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. This season, she returns to the Vienna State Opera as Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, a role she will also perform in a new production of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. Federica Lombardi makes her debut at the BBC Proms with Rossini’s Stabat Mater.

The upcoming seasons will take the soprano to the world's most prestigious lyric stages: Metropolitan Opera, New York with Così fan tutte and La Bohème, Vienna State Opera with Don Giovanni and La traviata and Deutsche Oper Berlin with La traviata. At the Lyric Opera Chicago,  she is set to make her highly anticipated debut in the role of Salomé in Massenet’s Hérodiade.

Federica Lombardi performs regularly on the world’s most renowned stages including Royal Opera House London, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Bavarian State Opera Munich, Teatro Real Madrid and the prestigious Salzburg Festival.

The artist is highly in-demand also as a concert soloist. Her landmark performances include Mozart’s Requiem in Rome and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Prague and Venice. She has performed Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in Amsterdam, Zurich, and at the Verdi Festival in Parma, and toured this masterpiece to Rome, Granada, and Seville with the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Daniel Harding. Additionally, she sang Rossini’s Stabat Mater in San Sebastián under Sir Marc Elder.

Her artistic versatility is further showcased in her media projects. In 2022, she starred as Mimì in a cinematic film adaptation of La Bohème shot in Rome. Her celebrated audio recording of Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello, alongside Jonas Kaufmann and conducted by Sir Antonio  Pappano, was released worldwide by Sony Classical.
