Björn Bürger

Baritone

The baritone Björn Bürger studied in Frankfurt. After graduating, he was part of Oper Frankfurt’s ensemble between 2013 and 2018, where the roles he sang included the title role in Billy Budd, Georg in Der Mieter, Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. Other roles included Lescaut in Manon Lescaut, Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Prince Andrei Bolkonsky in War and Peace. He has worked at opera houses such as the Paris Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, La Monnaie in Brussels and Zurich Opera House, and at the Glyndebourne Festival. At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang the roles of Wolfram von Eschenbach in Tannhäuser (2019) and the King’s Herald in Lohengrin (2023).
