Björn Bürger

Baritone

Baritone Björn Bürger studied in Frankfurt and was a member of the ensemble of Oper Frankfurt from 2013 to 2018. There, he performed roles including the title role in Billy Budd, Georg in Der Mieter, Harlequin in Ariadne auf Naxos and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte.

His other roles include Lescaut in Manon Lescaut, Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Prince Andrei Bolkonsky in War and Peace, Frank/Fritz in Die tote Stadt and Beckmesser in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

He has appeared at opera houses including Opéra national de Paris, Semperoper Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, La Monnaie / De Munt in Brussels, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatsoper Hamburg, Opernhaus Zürich and the Glyndebourne Festival.

At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang the roles of Wolfram von Eschenbach in Tannhäuser (2019), the King’s Herald in Lohengrin (2023) and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus (2024).
