Simon Hendry

Sound designer

Simon is a British sound designer specialising in contemporary classical music, opera and theatre. His work for the London Contemporary Orchestra includes highlights such as designing the sound for the BBC Proms in both 2018 and 2019, The Phantom Thread live screenings (Paul Thomas Anderson / Jonny Greenwood), and varied programmes with Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Terry Riley. Highlights of his work as 'associate designer' for Sound Intermedia include collaborations with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble and London Sinfonietta. In theatre, he has worked on Broken Wings (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Umm Kulthum (Palladium) and Rumi (Coliseum), among others. Simon is a member of the Association of Sound Designers, a community for sound professionals and students in the UK.
