Ruth Stofer

Ruth Stofer studied art and media at the University of the Arts in Zurich. After completing her master's degree in 2010, she went to work as a video technician at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, where she collaborated on many theatre productions. Since 2016, she has worked as a freelancer, creating video designs for Jan Bosse, Eva-Maria Höckmayr, Chris Kondek, Volker Lösch, Ruedi Häusermann and Karin Henkel, among others. In the field of opera, she previously worked with director Christof Loy at Oper Frankfurt, with Frank Hilbrich on Doctor Atomic at Theater Bremen and with Vasily Barkhatov on Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre at Oper Frankfurt.

Ruth Stofer created the video design for the opera Lohengrin, which is on the programme of Dutch National Opera from 11 to 30 November 2023.
