Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra

The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra performs on the most prestigious venues in the Netherlands and abroad, with Concertgebouw de Doelen as its home base. Led by renowned principal conductors such as Edo de Waart, James Conlon, Valery Gergiev, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Lahav Shani, the orchestra has acquired a place among Europe’s most prominent orchestras.

In previous seasons, the orchestra has performed Salome, Messa da Requiem, and La traviata, among other works, at Dutch National Opera. In the 2024 – 2025 season, the orchestra will be tackling Rudi Stephan’s Die ersten Menschen. In the 2025 – 2026 season, it will play Tristan und Isolde under the baton of principal guest conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, who made an overwhelming impression in his debut concert with the Rotterdam Philharmonic in 2022 and was appointed principal guest conductor not long afterwards.
