Choreographer fight scenes

The Israeli-German director, set and stunt designer Ran Arthur Braun is one of the world’s most sought-after specialists in action and fight choreography for opera and theatre. He has worked on more than 370 productions at leading opera houses and festivals around the globe. He has a long-standing collaboration with the Bregenz Festival, where he has been active for over twenty seasons. Since 2017, he has worked regularly with director Dmitri Tcherniakov.

Braun teaches stage combat at institutions including the Royal Opera House in London, Volksoper Wien, Dutch National Opera Studio, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and the opera programme in Valencia. At Dutch National Opera, he previously worked on Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda, Legende – De ontsporing van meneer Prikkebeen, La bohème, and Eine florentinische Tragödie.
