Opera in the Park 2024
Each year during the Holland Festival, an opera included in the programme is also shown for free on a large screen outside in the park. This edition of Opera in the Park consists of composer Ludwig van Beethovens opera Fidelio on Sunday 16 June.

Fidelio: liberation opera, revolutionary artwork, an ode to fidelity in love and utopian drama . Beethoven’s only opera is all of these things! Numerous characterisations and interpretations demonstrate that it is a unique work of musical theatre, that expresses the hope for a humane future with justice and liberty for all.
With renowned conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada at the head of the Concertgebouw Orchestra and directed by Andriy Zholdak, whose symbol-rich imagery echoes that of great filmmakers such as Andrei Tarkovsky and Ingmar Bergman.
The vocally versatile role of Leonore is performed by the radiant soprano Jacquelyn Wagner and the role of her lover, the revolutionary Florestan, by the internationally acclaimed heroic tenor Eric Cutler.
