Nikolaus Stenitzer

Dramaturge

Nikolaus Stenitzer studied Theatre, Film & Media Studies and Philosophy at the universities of Vienna and Hamburg. He has worked at the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna and as an editor and journalist in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. He worked as an editor for Bayerische Staatsoper from 2013 to 2017, and continued there afterwards as a dramaturg. From 2021 to summer 2025, he was a dramaturg at Vienna State Opera. He has collaborated with directors including Axel Ranisch, Katie Mitchell, Calixto Bieito, Herbert Fritsch and Tatjana Gürbaca. In 2024, he worked with Barrie Kosky on Agrippina at Dutch National Opera.
