In the Future: the documentary
The 2021-2022 season marked the 60th anniversary of Dutch National Ballet. This anniversary was celebrated together with amateur dance groups from all over the Netherlands and the Junior Company in the participation project In the Future.
The project showcased a variety of styles: from Indian dance to hip-hop, and from modern dance to Lindy Hop. This eventually led to a festive programme with a huge variety of dance styles and at least one common denominator: a passion for the dance of the future.
The documentary about this project, which was recently released on YouTube, follows the dance groups from their initial meeting to their enthusiastic performance of the various choreographies on the stage of Dutch National Opera & Ballet during the programme In the Future in May 2022. This was followed by a part from Hans van Manen's choreography of the same name, danced by the Junior Company.
