Maciej Straburzyński

Bass-baritone Maciej Straburzyński studied at the conservatories of Poznań and Amsterdam and specialises in early and contemporary music. He performed a.o. in Théâtre de Chaillot in Paris (world première of Naked Lunch by Yannis Kyriakides), La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels (world première of Les Aveugles by Daan Janssens), Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam (Kopernikus by Claude Vivier, the youth production Reimsreisje by Gioacchino Rossini, Donnerstag in Aus LICHT by Karlheinz Stockhausen), Opéra-théâtre de Limoges, Opéra de Rouen and Théâtre National in Brussels (world premiere of Daral Shaga by Kris Defoort), at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw (world premiere of Requiem for an Icon by Kasia Głowicka), opera houses in Poznań and Szczecin (The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell) and at festivals such as O. Rotterdam, Holland Festival, Opera Forward Festival, November Music and Oerol. He has worked with LOD Gent, Muziektheater Transparant, Muziektheater Hollands Diep and Silbersee.
