Luciana Mancini

The Chilean-Swedish mezzo-soprano Luciana Mancini received her Master's degree from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She sings regularly in leading opera houses and concert halls, such as the Berliner Staatsoper, Festspielhaus (Baden-Baden), Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Teatro Real Madrid, Wigmore Hall (UK), Carnegie Hall (US), Philharmonie Cologne, Liszt Academy of Music and Müpa (Budapest), Dutch National Opera and The Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Drottningholm (Sweden), Musikverein and Theater an der Wien (Vienna) where she made her debut in 2011 and will be seen again this year in a production of Caccini's opera Alcina. This season she performed Ottavia in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea with Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the title role in Rossini's La Cenerentola at the Staatsoper Bonn. In addition, she again performed the role of the second wife in Sasha Waltz' staging of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas at the Staatsoper Berlin. She enjoys singing in a wide variety of musical styles, from music of the 16th century to Piazzolla, and performs regularly with crossover groups such as L'Arpeggiata and the O/MODƏRNT ensemble.
