Luca Andrea Stappers
Luca Andrea Stappers is a director, scenographer and theatre maker. He studied theatre studies at the University of Amsterdam but left early to begin a master’s programme at Das Theatre, a master’s programme for artists within the performing arts with a strong focus on research, which is part of the Amsterdam School of the Arts.
Stappers has specialised in realising large-scale scenographies and events. For instance, he directed the celebration of the Treaty of Utrecht, developed ‘affective stage designs’ for Holland Symfonia and created the opera performance Lampedusa together with composer Jan Pieter Koch and librettist Paul Feld.
