Koen Tachelet

Dramaturge

Koen Tachelet was NTGent's head of dramaturgy under director Johan Simons. In 2010, he followed the director to the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he worked until 2015. As a guest dramaturg, he has worked for the Burgtheater in Vienna, ITA (International Theater Amsterdam), the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Comédie française and the Salzburger Festspiele, where he worked in 2022 on Ivo van Hove's production Ingolstadt, an adaptation of two theatre texts by Marieluise Fleißer. Tachelet also worked on many theatrical adaptations of non-scenic texts, including the novels of Michel Houellebecq, Joseph Roth, Hanya Yanagihara and Stefan Zweig. At Dutch National Opera, he was previously responsible for the dramaturgy of Die Entführung aus dem Serail (2008).

Koen Tachelet is responsible for the dramaturgy for Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, which will be performed at Dutch National Opera from 6 September to 27 September 2023.
