Kanako Abe

The conductor Kanako Abe studied at the Conservatoire in Paris, where she founded the Ensemble Multilaterale. Abe is an expert in the contemporary repertoire and has conducted the premieres of more than 200 works. She is the music director of the Orchestre Symphonique des Dômes and the Ensemble Orochi, and has also conducted orchestras such as the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, the Romanian National Radio Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. She was the conductor for the world premiere of Bushra El-Turk’s opera Woman at Point Zero at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2022 and the international tour that followed.
